History of the workers housing in Tampere where you can visit several residential buildings. There is also a nice cafe in the style of the 1920's.

Hiekka art museum

The museum was named after his founder Kustaa Hiekka who was a highly skilled goldsmith. He was a collector of art with a wide interest. This museum show the artwork that were collected and consists mostly of Finnish art.

Kivi museum - Tampere mineral museum

This museum displays a fascinating world of rocks and minerals. The museum displays gemstones in cut and rough form, as well as synthetic stones. You can also admire seashells, corals and skilful stone carvings.

Werstas - Finnish labour museum

This museum is a national museum of social history and working life situated in the heart of the old Finlayson factory area in the centre of Tampere. In the labour museum you can find all kinds of exhibitions. You can also visit the steam engine museum and textile industry museum with the same ticket. They are all situated in the same building.

Steam engine museum - you can see the Sulzer steam engine that was used to produce power for the Finlayson cotton mill on its original location. The machine was taking into use in 1900 and remains the biggest steam engine ever used in Finland

Textile industry museum - Here you can see the history of the textile factories in Tampere and the products that were made.
